Nearly all of the lemon essential oils I have tested all have that "lemon-like" smell. I know these are the oils that most of the people buy due to the price. There are only 2 brands that I have tried that smell the most authentic. One is more faint while the other is stronger. Both perform differently when putting one drop of oil on a balloon or a styrofoam cup.
The best way to tell if the oils I send you smell authentic is to compare them to an organic lemon and smell them side by side. Many people like the lemon rind smell while others like the lemon candy smell. There are different ways to distill the same lemons to give off more of that candy smell while other ways give a more rindy smell. The sacrifice is the constituents depending on how the oil is extracted.
If you want to compare some lemon samples to organic lemons and see which lemon oil you like best, ask me for samples. Everyone should be able to try a sample just like when you buy perfume in a department store. They let you smell it first. They let you take it home and wear it and see how you like it.
